Wedding Ceremony
Our wedding ceremony is scheduled for Saturday, June 12, 2010 at 6 pm in the evening at Marmion Park in the Heights.
Marmion Park
1800 Heights Boulevard
Houston, TX 77008
In the event of severe, inclement weather, the backup site will be indoors at the Reception location and will start 15 minutes later.
Marmion Park is the former site of the Cooley Mansion, one of the first homes built in the Heights in 1892 for D. D. Cooley, treasurer and promoter of the Omaha and South Texas Land Company.
When the electric trolley lines were installed on Heights Boulevard, Mr. Cooley connected the electric lines to his house, making it one of the first in the Heights to have the modern convenience of electricity.
The house was demolished in 1965 and the land remained vacant until purchased by the Houston Heights Association in 1979 and turned into Marmion Park, named after the last mayor of Houston Heights, J. B. Marmion.
