Wedding Reception
Our wedding reception is immediately following the ceremony at the Heights Theater, just a few blocks from Marmion Park.

The Heights Theater opened in 1929 as a one-screen cinema seating up to 950 people. Tickets were 5 cents for children and 15 cents for adults.
Bonnie and Clyde are said to have visited the theater several times in the early 1930's, preferring seats at the rear of the balcony level next to a window to keep an eye out for police. After serving the Houston Heights community for decades, it was torched by an arsonist in 1969 in protest to screening the Swedish film "I am Curious (Yellow)" on the film's opening night. The building was eventually restored to it's 1935 Art Moderne appearance.  |
